EIS Newsletter:
Chào,
I hope everything is good with you!
More bits and pieces from the world of Erasure this week, but before I go on to the news Andy asked me to mention a project he's championing for the Hetrick-Martin Institute in NYC (The Harvey Milk High School he visited when he was over there last month). HMI have teamed up with the Polo Ralph Lauren Fashion School to produce two tote bags, with the slogans 'I Kiss Boys' or 'I Kiss Girls', to raise funds for HMI, more details in this article from the New York Times website.
OK, on with the news...
Erasure Album Update
Vince and Andy have now finished work on rough versions of the new Erasure songs and have sent them over to Mute Records for input from Daniel Miller. Andy is now back in the UK but the duo are already planning the next phase of the process that will see them turn the rough versions into finished tracks!
Andy Bell - London DJ Set
Andy Bell will be playing a DJ set at Mat Horne's 'Session 17' clubnight in London on August 21st. 'Session 17' will take place at The Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch and the night will also feature DJ sets from Mat Horne, Sunta Templeton, Midnight Socialite, Push Music, Liam Young and Badloader as well as live performances from Courts, Rubytrax, Kyla La Grange and Television Personalities. See the news section on Andy's website for more details.
Lexer Music - August Sale
Our friends at Lexer Music, who run the official Erasure shop, are having their annual Summer Sale which means that there are all sorts of Erasure bits and pieces available at special low prices (including great deals on concert programmes, postcards and badges to name just a few!)...
New Andy Bell Interviews
A few more 'Non-Stop' interviews have popped up this week. Andy's chat with Manchester's Chimp Magazine isn't online but there's a scan of it for you in the news section of Andy's website, plus there's links to an online interview with The New Gay, and an interesting feature about the making of 'Non-Stop' at EQ Magazine which talks to both Andy and his co-producer on the album, Pascal Gabriel.
Riding The Robot Unicorn!
My bumbling around the internet this week, in search of quirky Erasure-related stories for this part of the newsletter, led me to an artistic tribute to Erasure's role in the online game 'Robot Unicorn Attack' (also now available for the iPhone!). It's a digital-art image by Elrothiel that puts Andy Bell into the game 'riding Robot Unicorn across the purple-grassed lands of Harmony!'… you can check it out here!

Courtesy of Thao, this week's greeting and farewell are in Vietnamese, thank you Thao… that pretty much uses up my stash of languages so if anyone wants to suggest any that I haven't already used I would be very grateful!
Tam Biêt!
