"Union Street" And Acoustic Tour Press Release
ERASURE RELEASE AN ACOUSTIC ALBUM "UNION STREET" OUT ON 3rd APRIL
2006 PLUS UK TOUR IN APRIL 2006
ERASURE release a brand new album, UNION STREET, on 3rd APRIL 2006.
The release, their first full length acoustic album, coincides with
an intimate UK tour, starting on 14th April in Edinburgh and
includes a date at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire on 19th April
(full dates below).
The new album, Union Street, sees Andy Bell and Vince Clarke
reworking classic tracks from throughout their incredible career,
which began 20 years ago and has seen the band notch up 32
consecutive Top 40 hits, most recently with Here I Go Impossible
Again/All This Time Still Falling Out Of Love from 2005's Nightbird
album.
The album, recorded in a small studio in Brooklyn, NY, was born from
the idea says Andy Bell, that they "show the songs in a different
light, and show that they could work on whatever instrument,
synthesisers or guitars”. "We just felt there were songs on our
albums that had been missed as songs," says Clarke. "We found this
cool guitarist [Steve Walsh] with a cool studio [Union Street] and
decided to use both.”
UNION STREET TRACKLISTING
1. BOY (from the album Cowboy)
2. PIANO SONG (from the album Wild!)
3. STAY WITH ME (from the album Erasure)
4. SPIRALLING (from the album The Circus)
5. HOME (from the album Chorus)
6. TENDEREST MOMENTS (Run To The Sun B Side)
7. ALIEN (from the album Loveboat)
8. BLUES AWAY (from the album I Say I Say I Say)
9. HOW MANY TIMES? (from the album Wild!)
9. LOVE AFFAIR (from the album Cowboy)
10. ROCK ME GENTLY (from the album Erasure)
Andy Bell and Vince Clarke (also known for his work with Depeche
Mode and Yazoo, amongst others) are one of the most successful UK
duos of all time. In 2004 the band had their 29th consecutive UK Top
40 hit with the single Oh L'Amour remixed, from Hits! The Very Best
of Erasure. Erasure have completed work on a latest album,
Nightbird, released in Jan 2005. 2003 saw Erasure release a Best Of
Compilation and Other People's Songs, an album of covers, both of
which hit the UK Top 20, and in the past 2 years Erasure have
released 3 Top 20 singles. Nightbird is the first album of original
material since 2000's acclaimed album Loveboat and was preceded by a
single, Breathe.

Digimpro To Present Beta Version Of YourSpins.com At Midem
London-based,
digital music company Digimpro will launch YourSpins.com, an
interactive music community where music lovers, remixing fans and
producers can meet, share and publish their music creations online
at the Midem show. The pre-launch version of YourSpins.com will be
demonstrated at Midem, on 22 January, 2006 at booth R34.08.
Behind YourSpins.com lies Digimpro's interactive music .di format
that enables users to create their own mixes and arrangements of new
releases, save them and share them with other community members.
Far beyond traditional remix software, .di also allows for real time
mixing and improvisation, and has already been used by major artists
such as Moby, Erasure, Spooky and Roots Manuva.
The tracks created on YourSpins.com can be linked to and streamed
across a range of media including eCards, blogs and web pages. The
remixed tracks may be also sent directly to mobiles as ringtones.
Digimpro's .di technology includes a
patented 'improvise button', which creates a new unique version of
the track. Listeners can also remix manually. The technology is
available for both Mac and Windows platforms.
In addition to instant remixing, YourSpin.com's users will be able
to download original music tracks and podcasts of select remixes,
and share their views and music tastes on a number of discussion
forums. Further community features will be announced shortly.
Digimpro will demonstrate a
pre-launch version of YourSpins.com network at Midem during a press
conference on Sunday, 22 January, 3pm, booth number: R34.08m located
in the 'Espace Riviera' section of the Palais des Festivals.
About Digimpro:
Digimpro is a privately held UK Limited company specialising in
interactive music software applications. Recent .di releases include
Moby's Lift Me Up, Roots Manuva's Too Cold, Erasure's Here I Go
Impossible Again and more. For more information, please see

Tour FAQ's
When live dates are announced, invariably the EIS in inundated with
the following queries, therefore I'm taking the opportunity to
answer them here:
1) Can the band dedicate a song for me on stage?
No this isn't something the EIS can arrange - plus it would make for
a dull show if the band had to make 100's of dedications per night.
2) Can you send me a backstage pass / put me on a guest list?
No - the EIS is not involved in such matters.
3) Are they performing in *insert place name here*.
All currently known tour dates are listed within the 'live' section.
If any other venues are confirmed, then the 'live' page will be
updated and an EIS Newsletter sent.

Top 100 Most
Successful Acts Of All Time (EIS News)
The Book Of British Hit Singles &
Albums has unveiled their annual list of the Top 100 Most Successful
Acts Of All Time, and Erasure are at number 67
(last year Erasure were at # 69).
They are the only artist signed with Mute Records that make this Top
100 list.
The annual Top 100 rates itself as "the most definitive and genuine
list of its kind" as it's based solely on the total number of weeks
each contender has spent on the official UK Singles and Albums
charts and not on arbitrary voting.
The artists are ordered according to who has spent the most weeks on
the combined official UK singles and albums charts, and the list
represents more than 50 years of chart music from 1952 to the
present day.
