Erasure - Live Performance At G-A-Y

Erasure will be the special musical guests of Joan Rivers at G-A-Y at the London Astoria on Saturday 19th May.

They will be performing a short live set featuring classics hits plus songs from the new album.

Advance tickets are available from the G-A-Y Bar (30 Old Compton Street) every day from 12pm - 12am, or from the G-A-Y Club at the Astoria on Monday, Thursday and Friday nights. Or you can buy tickets on the night.

HMV In-Store Signings

Erasure will be playing live and signing copies of their new album "Light At The End Of The World" at two HMV stores:

- Monday 21st May 6.00pm - HMV 150 Oxford Street, London W1D 1DJ

400 wristbands will be given out from the store from 9.00am on the 21st May on a strictly "first come first served" basis, one per person only, while stocks last.

Erasure are due to appear at 6.00pm, where they will be performing live and then will be available to sign your copies of their new album "Light At The End Of The World".

- Tuesday 22nd May 5.00pm - HMV 38 High Street, Birmingham B4 7SL

The Birmingham event will be very similar, i.e a live performance + signing copies of the new album.

However there will be no wristband allocation, so I advise you to arrive early (the band are due to start at 5.00pm) as space at the store is extremely limited and the number of people allowed in will be strictly controlled.

The second single release from the new album will be "Sunday Girl". The UK release date is the 11th June and the German release date is 8th June.

The North American release date is to be confirmed at the time of writing.

Erasure will be appearing at G-A-Y at the Astoria (London) on Saturday May 19th. The band will be special musical guests of Joan Rivers, who will also be on the bill.

Pollstar.com Interview

In a recent interview to Pollstar.com Andy told some interesting things:

"Plans for a tour of the U.S. and Canada are "in the pipeline.""

"It's possible that fans will hear other cover albums by the band in the future. "There are so many great songs out there. I wouldn't mind doing some kind of show-tunes or '40s torch songs [album] - I'd like to do something like that.""

"He and Clarke have been toying with the idea of recording an album of nursery rhymes for several years. "Just before we did the new album, we were kind of thinking about it," he said. "Vince was sending me ideas for songs, and we'd done probably about five tracks already. We did a narration of the 'The Happy Prince' by Oscar Wilde, which is really sweet. We were just about to get some deal, and it fell through, so we kind of put it on the back burner for a while, but it's definitely something that we'd like to do.""

Electric Picnic Music Festival - Republic Of Ireland

Electric Picnic is an annual music festival which has been staged since 2004 in Stradbally Hall (Stradbally) in the Republic of Ireland.

Erasure are appearing at the event on the 1st September, performing between 8.45pm and 9.45pm.

Other artists performing include the Beastie Boys, Jarvis, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and !!!. Tickets are available now.

iTunes / iPods / Other MP3 Players

I've received a few emails concerning the exclusive "James Aparicio" mix of "I Could Fall In Love With You", all from people who do not own iPods.

Just to clarify, you do *not* need an iPod to listen to music purchased from the iTunes store. Music purchased from the store can be written onto a CD for playback via your CD player. This is all done within the iTunes application itself and is very straightforward. Music CDs can of course be imported into other MP3 players etc.
